Stationary, semi-mobile and mobile crushing plants with capacities ranging from 500 to more than 10,000 t/h are constantly proving their value crushing and processing hard rock, limestone, coal, ore, overburden and other minerals in open pit mines and quarries.

The crusher is the core of all these plants. thyssenkrupp’s range of more than 20 different crushers provides a suitable type for every conceivable application and performance class. The crushers are perfectly matched by feeding and discharge systems or screens to result in custom-built and cost-effective plants.

Stationary Crushing Plants

Stationary crushing plants on concrete or steel basis. Available as primary crushing stations for truck and shovel operations as well as for secondary and tertiary crushing applications of aggregates, coal, ore, etc..


The secondary and tertiary crushing plant for iron ore, followed by magnetic separation consists of two identical, separate lines with a feed capacity of 750 t/h, each.

The plant consists of one Secondary Crushing Plant with two Kubria® Cone Crushers type M 210, one Tertiary Crushing Plant with four Kubria® Cone Crushers, type F 210 and one Screening Plant, with two Linear Vibrating Banana Screens 3.6 m wide and 8 m long.

In the following sorting plant, the screened final product of 0-10 mm will be separated, into concentrate and waste material, by magnetic drums.

This plant was an EPC contract, built for the Swedish state-owned company LKAB in Mertainen, close to Kiruna in Northern Sweden.

Direct Feed Semi-Mobile Crushing Plants

The thyssenkrupp Semi-Mobile Crushing Plant (SMCP) concept combined a common stationary plant on steel basis and a relocatable plant, transportable by means of transport crawlers (also available as thyssenkrupp inhouse crawlers).

One of four direct feed semi-mobile crushing plants with gyratory crushers in a copper ore mine at FQM´s Cobre Panama mine.

Two of the almost four identical crushing plants are equipped with a KB 63-89 gyratory crusher, while the other two plants are equipped with the largest Gyratory Crusher KB 63 -130 Pro, which, thanks to its compact design, has the same overall height as its “smaller brother” and thus enables the same plant concept with higher throughputs up to 11,000 t/h at only a slight additional weight.

Indirect Feed Semi-Mobile Crushing Plants (SMCP) for Hard Rock

Semi-mobile crushing plants for hard rock can be fed either directly or indirect by a feeder. (e.g.apron feeder). Via discharge conveyor the crushed product will be transported to the following conveyor system.

Therefore the SMCP for hard rock is similar to the direct fed SMCP and the first step of an IPCC system with nearly the same features. No matter if overburden, coal, ore or waste rock must be handled, thyssenkrupp has integrated solutions for each mine.

Indirect Feed SMCP Components

This semi-mobile crushing plant with a capacity of 5,000 t/h for overburden, is the starting point of a complete IPCC sytem, supplied by thyssenkrupp.
