Gas suspension calciner
In the gas suspension calciner system, feedstocks with grain sizes from 0-2mm –and in special circumstances even up to 4mm- are thermally treated using the gas suspension method. Process temperatures can be as high as 1,200°C to create a finished product.
We can also offer you the gas suspension calciner system with a preheater function, which greatly reduces the kiln’s fuel energy consumption while at the same time making more intensive use of the kiln.
As our multiple hearth furnace enables the temperature profile to be precisely controlled, it is ideal for thermal processing of raw materials with very small particle sizes from 0-40mm and filter cake.

Rotary kilns are used for calcining, reducing, burning, roasting, or sintering a wide range of materials. They are designed to operate reliably in your various processes with operational temperatures of up to 1,800°C.
In addition, our directly fired rotary kilns can be designed for a wet or dry process and combined with different preheater systems to achieve high productivity while simultaneously reducing energy consumption.
High-temperature shaft kilns are static production systems. They are in operation to thermally treat and sinter different materials at extreme temperatures of up to 2,300°C and are able to produce the highest quality product.
Hydrogen has great potential to sustainably supply green energy to business areas that were previously considered difficult to decarbonize. We have made it our goal to support our customers and partners in the transition to green hydrogen.
At thyssenkrupp’s rotary kiln pilot plant, we are testing the use of hydrogen and hydrogen/natural gas mixtures for treating the ore in addition to natural gas operation and to compare the different firing types.
In many plants, cooling is required before further processing or transportation of a thermally treated product. With our flash cooler and rotary cooler, we have proven and powerful products to offer solutions for widely different application.
Our coolers are especially developed and built to suit the requirements of your process. Flash coolers are specifically designed for use with fine materials with grain sizes of up to 2mm and rapidly cool your materials. Rotary coolers offer high flexibility for fluctuations in material properties and quantities.
Mining Technologies offers three different types of dryers: rotary dryers, shaft dryers and flash dryers.
Rotary dryers are used in the minerals industry for drying and preheating fine-grained and lumpy materials using hot gas, which the material is in direct contact with. Shaft dryers reduce the moisture content of pellets or briquettes to a level acceptable for furnace charging. Flash dryers remove surface moisture from the product to be processed.
